This afternoon, I did my part to help the economy as I bought another gift for my husband. I really think he is going to like it. I was able to purchase it in between two other time commitments today, which I’m pretty impressed about. If I had a tip that came out of today it would be:
Use all the possible time that you have to get things done. Don’t assume that a segment of time is too little to use productively. Fill out a Christmas card while on the phone, think of gifts to buy while stuck in traffic. Every little bit helps toward the ultimate goal, which is preparing a special Christmas (or other holiday).
Incidentally, it also helps to spread out the gift purchasing. Ideally, buy gifts throughout the year to be able to take advantage of sales. If nothing else, buy a few presents every week once you hit the main holiday shopping season. That way, you won’t be running around like a maniac on Christmas Eve. And there are definitely people who do that. You know who you are! So give yourself a break, and spread the gift purchasing around.
