Happy Veteran’s Day

Today is Veteran’s Day.  Are you flying your flag? I forgot about it until a little earlier today, at work.  I was heading home early, so I wrote myself a note to remember to put it up.  However, it is sleeting here, so I don’t think that is the best move.  Tony and his Dad put the flag holder up a few months ago…this would have been the perfect day to fly the flag.  Oh well.  Thank you to all of the veterans! We appreciate all that you have done for our country.  And thank you to our current armed forces as well.  Whether or not we agree with the wars being fought, we do certainly appreciate your sacrifices.  God bless!

Patriot Day – 9/11

A few days ago it was Patriot Day, otherwise known as the anniversary of the World Trade Center disaster.  What a sad time.  It’s hard to believe it has been seven years since that happened.  Since that time I’ve gotten married and moved…two big and very good things.  That was such a tragic day in history.

Flag Day

Today is Flag Day. Will you be flying your flag? Sadly, although we do have a flag, the bracket for it is still not installed, so we can’t fly the flag. I think we might have a small plastic flag someplace in the garage, but I’m not sure it can be located easily. Maybe I should try before work. Maybe we should set a goal of installing the bracket before July 4th.

Presidents Day

It seems that I missed a U.S. holiday this week, and that is Presidents Day. This is a day to celebrate the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln (Feb. 12) and George Washington (Feb. 22). Additionally, some see it as honoring of all former Presidents. If you’d like more info about President’s Day, here is an article from Wikipedia, and some biographical information about past Presidents from the White House.
